He was born in Trujillo, New Mexico on December 25, 1950 to his parents, Rosendo and Rebecca Lopez.
Ernie was married to Sylvia Trujillo on October 18, 1969.
He had a lifelong career as a roofer, was a professional musician, enjoyed being outdoors fishing and he absolutely loved spending time with his family.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia; devoted children, Al (Crystal) Lopez, Benjamin Lopez and Rebecca Lopez (Vincent Mendez); grandchildren, Dominic, Alexis, Christopher, Cameron, Benjamin Jr., Jaden, Avery (Brittany), Hope, Amanda and Daniel; great-grandchildren, Jason Avery and second great grandchild expected February 2016; siblings, Helen (the late Napoleon) Roybal, Bernie (Marcella) Lopez, Ted (Flora) Lopez and Gene (Merlinda) Lopez; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
