Cecil L. Newell, age 86, of Denver, Colorado passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Cecil was born March 10, 1935 to Cecil Carlton and Ellen Murray Newell (Walker) and had five siblings, Bill, Charles, George, Ruth Gould, and Judy Moyer. A graduate of Brighton High School, he was married to Patricia Newell on June 9, 1957. Together they had 5 children: Chuck, David, Bobby, Leona, and Sherry. A career electrician, he was a member of the Boy Scouts, IBEW Local 68, board member of Electrical Federal Credit Union, and a member of Red Rocks Fellowship Church and BSF Bible Study. He loved spending time with his family, attending church, fishing, and the Denver Broncos.
Cecil is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; siblings Charles, Bill, Judy Moyer; and parents, Cecil and Ellen Newell.
He is survived by his children: Charles Newell (Gayle), David Newell, Bobby Newell (Lonna), Leona Newell Lawless (Steve), Sherry Newell Chandler (Kerry); his grandchildren: Philip, Shawn, Paul, Jacob, David, Erika, Marie, Jennifer, Jesse, Gina, Lauren, Jackie, and Colton; his great-grandchildren: Malea, Malachi, Alizea, Jack, Ayden, Elsie, Samuel, Luke, Lily, and Jessica; and his siblings Ruth Gould and George Newell.
A visitation for Cecil will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Advantage Runyan-Stevenson, 6425 West Alameda Ave, Lakewood, CO 80226. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Red Rocks Fellowship, 11195 W Belleview Ave, Littleton, CO 80127. A Reception will be held immediately following funeral service at the Church. A graveside service will occur Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery, 6601 South Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121.
