Tom was born on April 18, 1934 in Longview Texas, the son of Homer King and Alice Ruth Harman who predeceased his death.
After serving in the Air Force, Tom obtained a Petroleum Engineering degree from The University of Texas in Austin. He ran a successful Oil and Gas business in Tyler, Texas before retiring to his beloved Hill Country. At age 80, he and Linda embarked upon a new career of raising elite Texas Longhorns. With a theme of Go Big or Go Home, Tom left his brand on the industry by breeding quality elite genetics. The most important part of that journey was the friends they met that impacted his life.
Tom was a member of Riverbend Church in Austin. He was also lifelong member of the Texas Exes and numerous Longhorn cattle associations.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held Sunday, June 4, at 2 pm. It will take place at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral/Event Center located at 411 RR 620 South, Lakeway, Texas 78734.
