I was so sorry to hear about Suzanne's passing.  I first met her when I went to check out a new weaving store on 34th Street.  Over the years as HCW grew and became a destination yarn store for any fiber lover who came to Austin, Suzanne remained the friendly presence who welcomed everyone and made everyone feel at home.  I will miss her.

I am so sorry to hear of Suzanne’s passing.   Our friendship goes back to 1961.   We shared so much all of these years.   Suzanne was the one who went with me to see The Beatles.  I remember us riding our bicycles to a craft store!   Rest in Peace.

Suzanne was one of the most thoughtful, generous caring persons I had ever had the privilege of knowing   She was a warrior and compassionate human being.  She taught me so much about knitting but more importantly about having knitting sisters.  It’s not just about knitting

Hill Country Weavers was my very first Local Yarn Shop.  When I walked into the yellow house on Congress Ave, I was gobsmacked and never looked back.  That was 25 years ago.  My knitting journey would have been vastly different without that little yellow shop.  Suzanne introduced me to Stephanie Pearl McPhee, Clara Parkes, Amy Singer, Joji Locatelli, and the list goes on.  Because of her Knitting in the Hills Retreat, I have lifetime friends.  Suzanne created a community that I’m grateful to be a small part of.  She will be missed but always remembered.
