Stephen Thomas Crownover, 73, passed away peacefully at the Hospice Austin’s Christopher House on Saturday, July 20, 2024. He was the son of John and Mary Jane Crownover; husband of Carolyn Crownover; brother of Jack Crownover, Peggy Willson, Cathy Bixler and Michael Crownover; "Uncle Steve" to many nieces and nephews; and survived by daughter Traci Thoman, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Growing up in an Air Force family, Stephen knew many homes, ultimately settling in Steiner Ranch. Stephen had an entrepreneurial spirit and enjoyed a prosperous career providing commercial lines insurance solutions. Stephen was an articulate guitar player and spent many hours filling the house with music by playing along with his favorite tunes. His love of music is evident in his collection of electric guitars and readiness to share his knowledge of the guitar greats he admired most. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs and Texas Longhorns.
In later years Stephen was proud to offer his professional mentorship to many who prospered from his support and guidance. He was a good listener. Stephen also enjoyed golfing with friends and associates and sharing his time and experiences with his breakfast club.
Stephen’s love and compassion will be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home in Lakeway (411 Ranch Rd 620 South) at one o’clock on Saturday, August 10th to remember and celebrate Stephen’s life.
