Rick had a large personality and he enjoyed his life. He loved his wife Carlaine, his family, friends, travel, exploring restaurants and his cats,
Rick was born on October 10, 1947, in Maryland. He studied and taught at LSU in Baton Rouge, the University of Colorado in Boulder, the New South Wales University in Sydney, Australia, and Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. He received his doctorate from the University of Colorado. Rick ran a major hospital in New York and was a principal consultant in health care for the Gallup organization for over 20 years while he was based in Washington D.C.
Rick and Carlaine had 2 daughters, Meghan and Bindi, and 5 grandchildren, Roby, Tristan, Cate, Keegan and Nigel.
Rick had a passion for exploring restaurants. He enjoyed the food but mostly he loved the dining experience and getting to know the people involved. His favorite international cities were London, Sydney and Paris. He will be missed by his many friends at the Canyon Grille at Rough Hollow and Freedom Boat Club.
Rick is survived by Carlaine Blizzard, his wife of 54 years, and his daughter Bindi Nielsen and her husband Glenn. Also by his sister Donna Dunn and her husband Kevin and by his grandchildren Roby, Cate, Tristan, Keegan and Nigel.
The family will have a small private service for Rick on September 2 at Remembrance Gardens.
