Mike Marcy, age 57, loving husband and proud father of two children, passed from this life on June 26, 2011 at home with his family by his side.
Mike was born March 18, 1954 in Yakima, Washington and grew up in Kermit, Texas. He attended UT at El Paso and East Texas State University prior to moving to Austin in the early 1980’s. A fine craftsman and owner of MAM Remodeling, Mike loved living on Lake Travis and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling, and was fondly known as “The Wild Goose Slayer.” Some of his best times were spending time with family and friends, the Safety Committee, barbecuing and watching the Cowboys, Longhorns, and Nascar.
Those that will cherish his memory forever include his wife of 21 years, Janell Marcy; daughter Megan Marcy of Spicewood; son and daughter-in-law Josh & Cara Parker; and parents George & Dorothy Marcy, and numerous friends, many life-long. He is preceeded in death by his mother, Ann Marcy.
Mike had an amazing spirit, endearing personality, and knew just how to make everyone laugh. You’ll be missed, Twinkle Toes!
A memorial service celebrating Mike’s life will be held on Friday, July 1st, 4 p.m.at Weed-Corley-Fish, 411 RR 620S, Lakeway. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.wcfish.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Austin or the American Cancer Society.
