Louis Joseph Marino born September 3rd, 1946 in Houston Texas, passed away and went to Heaven on September 13th, 2022. His father was Louis Joseph Marino Sr and his mother was Rosalie Patricia Marino. He had three brothers, John Marino, Joseph Marino, and Augustine Marino (Pinto) who all predeceased him.
He attended Mt. Carmel high school and played football there, #22. He loved his classmates from the class of 64’ and maintained their friendship throughout his life. He attended Wharton Junior College on a football scholarship and was later drafted by the army to serve in Vietnam.
On November 21st, 1969, he married the love his life, Linda Gail Dewberry. And, on May 11th, 1976, Louis’s eyes were lit up again by the birth of his son, Landon Marino, a true Christian who loves the Lord as much as his father did. For nearly 53 years, Louis and Linda’s strong love for each other was unwavering. They were inseparable, except of course, for his annual Father-Son hunts which he looked forward to so much.
After Louis retired from the V.A. Hospital in Kerrville Texas, he continued his passions including hunting, fishing, football, real estate, and planning for upcoming vacations. Being with his family was what he enjoyed most of all.
Louis is survived by his wife, Linda, his son Landon, his daughter in law Michelle, and his two granddaughters Ava and Lily, his favorite part of life. From the moment Ava and Lily were born, he loved being with them. He enjoyed walking and talking, watching them bake cookies, and attending their school activities. They were God’s gift to him.
Now he is on the journey he has been waiting for his entire life. His faith was so strong and provides us comfort knowing he is now in Heaven looking down on us all.
We love you Louis.
