She was born on a farm located between Leander and Rock Round to David William Anderson (1888-1973) and Margaret Emily Greer Anderson (1884-1973). All her siblings, Wilma Chapin of Georgetown, Sally Harris of Austin, Ben Anderson of Temple, Brady Anderson of Round Rock and Alex Anderson of Merced, California, preceded her in death.
She was married to Wiley Taft Brady (1911-1971). Wiley always called her Susie-no one knew why. She was a loving wife and good mother. She leaves two daughters, Elaina Andrea Brady of Austin and Karen Ann Brady of Katy. Both daughters are attorneys. She leaves three grandchildren, Emily Andrea Shelton, an attorney in Houston, Matthew Michael Shelton, a former Marine who is working in Austin, and John Henry Alsop, V., a student at A & M University.
Lois was the valedictorian of her graduation class from Leander High School. During her working life Lois was employed at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Texas Employment Commission and the U.S. Selective Service.
Lois was a Democratic Precinct Chairwoman for many years and active in the Parent Teacher Association. When Karen was born twelve years after Elaine, Lois said, "Oh goodness, 24 years in the PTA".
Lois loved animals and had too many cats to count, a pet squirrel and a pet skunk. She was a festive person and loved all holidays. Without spending a lot of money her Christmases were lavish. At Easter she even insisted that her grown daughters hunt for Easter eggs.
The family would like to thank James and Louis Triplett for their continued devotion to our mother for the past years. They were always ready to help her and she was delighted with their company.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Weed-Corley Fish Lake Travis and she will be buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Georgetown.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12th at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Georgetown, Texas. For information please contact Karen Brady 281 923 0289.
