Katherine S. Henry MD

Katherine S. Henry MD, age 76, passed away peacefully February 6, 2021 due to natural causes. Katherine was an accomplished board-certified family practice medical doctor who created one of the largest private medical practices in North Texas during her lifetime. She saved many lives and positively impacted many people due to her skill, knowledge and God given ability to diagnose and implement an appropriate treatment plan. She was the only female medical school graduate in a class of 86 people at Emory University in 1971. She was the first female Medical Doctor in the city of Richardson Texas where she founded a family practice clinic and stet up the initial medical clinic at the University of Texas at Dallas. Once established, her medical practice grew quickly requiring her to design and build the medical complex at 721 W. Arapaho where she spent dozens of years taking care of her patients.

Besides focusing on medicine, Katherine had many varied and interesting hobbies such as; bird watching, flying, painting, poetry, wood working and sailing. She also enjoyed sports cars and owned a Porsche, BMW and Mercedes sport coupes. She was an avid lover of pets and nature which led her to save many stray cats and fund charities to support lost and abused animals. She also believed in environmental causes and supported efforts to treat issues caused by environmental pollution that occurs in our modern lives. Katherine is survived by her brother Barry Savage and Kathryn Savage (sister-in-law), Rick Savage (Brother) and Kathy Savage (Sister-in-Law), and niece Jessica R Savage. Plus, her fur babies; Charlie, Budroe, and Buffy. All of these she loved and touched deeply. Due to current circumstances with the pandemic, we will be planning a Celebration of her life in the Dallas Ft Worth Area in the Fall of 2021.
