On May 26th, 2015 our loving son, brother, grandson and friend to hundreds, passed away unexpectedly in his home in Austin, Texas. Jason Christopher Zbranek was born in San Antonio, Texas and was a graduate of Churchill High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000 and began a career in home building with DR Horton Homes. He later joined the family home building business, Zbranek & Holt Custom Homes, as a high end custom home project manager. In 2009, Jason was recognized as the "Project Manager of the Year" for the State of Texas at a ceremony in Dallas, Texas and the following year, won "Employee of the Year" for his outstanding accomplishments in production management and customer relations.
Two years ago he fulfilled a dream by starting his own home building company, Texas Artisan Homes, with a long-time family friend, Sacheen "Jerry" Jhaveri.
Jason loved everything outdoors, including Hunting, Fishing, Golf, Boating and Skiing, both snow and water. He was the brightest light in the room and the life of every party. Jason is survived by his parents Suzanne Zbranek and Sue and Steve Zbranek, brother Steven Zbranek, sisters Tiffany Zbranek, Susan Zbranek, and Tracy Collins along with her husband, Robert H. Collins, Jr., and grandparents Donald and Dorothy Mueller.
A Celebration of Life event is scheduled for Saturday, May 30th, 2015 at Weed-Corley-Fish, Funeral Home in Lakeway, Texas at 1:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jason Zbranek's name to the Austin Disaster Relief Network to support the Memorial Day Weekend Flood Fund, benefiting victims of Central Texas.
