J. Steve Aldridge

Steve was raised in Luling, Texas by Lola and Jim Williams. As a young man, he attended the University of Texas in Austin where he graduated from the Business School and was a proud member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Steve also met and married his wife, Donna, while at the University of Texas. They were happily married for 39 years.

Steve was a successful Independent Texas Oilman. He worked for Texas Oil & Gas early in his career and was a partner with Miller Energy in Houston, Texas for 25 years. After a short retirement in Spicewood Texas, he got bored with golf and resumed “wheelin’ and dealin’” with his successful venture: Aldridge Energy Partners.

Steve was always a dedicated member of his community. He was named a Lifetime Director of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, volunteering and serving on numerous committees over the span of 30 years. He also served on the Board of the Sugar Creek Homes Association and as President of the Sugar Creek Men’s Golf Association. Steve was an active member of area churches in Sugar Land, Texas, and was most recently a member of Bee Creek United Methodist Church.

Steve truly had a zest for life. He loved and cherished his family. He also enjoyed golf, boating around Lake Travis, Longhorn athletics, horse racing and summer camp with friends in Ruidoso.

Steve is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, son Kevin Aldridge, daughter Chrissie and Charlton Laird, and daughter Tricia and Jeremy Neill. He is also survived by his grandchildren Connor Laird, Caden Laird, Chandler Laird, and Bella Neill.

Steve’s family appreciates all the kind thoughts and prayers in these trying times.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, 411 RR 620 South.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Bee Creek United Methodist Church, 3000 Bee Creek Rd., Spicewood, TX 78669.
