Jilly Blazina born on April 1, 1940 in Birmingham, England, a resident at the Wesleyan Independent Living in Georgetown, TX peacefully passed away on 8/7/2024 after a brief illness. Her daughter and best friend Susie Galloway never left her side and held her hand as her beautiful Soul left her body and transcended to Heaven. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Ronnie Blazina.
Jilly moved to Texas from England in 1999 at the age of 60 to begin a new chapter in her life. She fell in love with TX and the Sun City Community, moving into her new home during the early years when Sun City was still in its infancy. She kick up her heels and never looked back. She loved to sing Karaoke and was active in so many clubs; Line Dancing, Solo’s Group, Dinners Out Club, Wine Tasting Club to name but a few! She worked as a hostess at the Legacy Grill, Café on the Green and Mulligan’s within Sun City TX. On Tuesdays you would find her volunteering at the Assistance League Thrift Store in Georgetown working to support their fundraising efforts to support children in need. She loved Jesus and spent her Sunday mornings at the Worship Place in Sun City, for many years as a greeter as well as a faithful member of the congregation.
In 2020 Jilly and her beloved cat Marmalade moved to Wesleyan but even in her twilight years, she continued to stay active and involved with her friends and community. She played Mahjongg, Dominoes, Hand & Foot cards and loved a good game of Bingo but also volunteered her time and worked to support the annual fund-raising Bazaar at the Wesleyan. She was always willing to lend a hand.
Jilly loved to travel and celebrated her birthday every year on a cruise ship with her daughter Susie. It was their special ‘Girl Time’ and they completed more than 15 cruises together, enjoying new places, meeting new friends and their special time together. There were many raised glasses and lots of laughter during these trips and very special memories of wonderful times created.
Jilly was generous with her heart. Her sparkling blue eyes lit up the room. She loved people and cherished her friends and family. She enjoyed giving and welcomed everyone with a beautiful warm smile. She lived life to the fullest. Jilly was a remarkable woman who was loved by all who met her, and this world is a better place because of her life, love and legacy.
