He was born in Arlington, TX as the ninth of ten children to Emitt Britton Dalton and Jessie Marie Ledford Dalton. Graduated from Arlington High School 1955 and attended Arlington State. Fred pursued a lifelong career in construction, with his last business venture in Austin as partner with Sendero Contractors.
Fred leaves his loving wife, Carolyn Davis Dalton; precious children, Greg Marberry & Melissa, Holly Marberry Schwab & Kyle Henning, Bryan Marberry, Tracy & Gary Bryan, Brad Dalton, Russell Dalton, & Jason Dalton; and lights of his life: grandchildren, Jeremy Schwab, Brittany, Kennedy, Bryan, & Luke Marberry, Maggie & Abby Bryan. Surviving brothers are James Dalton & Eunice, Dan Dalton & Barbara, Logan Dalton & Vera, Dick Dalton & Margie; and brother-in-law, Harold Davis & Francis.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and spouses; Emmett & Mildred, Harry & Virginia, Boyd & Virginia, Howard & Virginia, and loving sister and husband, Anita & Milton Timblen.
Fred's most blessed service was as a Board Member of World Hope Ministries and long time member of Riverbend Church. He was also a past member of Woods & Waters and Coastal Conservation. He was an accomplished outdoorsman with many awards in skeet shooting and fishing tournaments.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 RR 620 South, Lakeway.
Mr. Dalton will lie in state in the Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11th.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in the Smith Chapel at Riverbend Church, 4214 Capital of Texas Hwy North, Austin.
