Desiree Denise Willis

Desiree Denise Willis, age 55, of Lakeway, Texas, passed away on December 16, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on March 31, 1969, in San Luis Potosí, S.L.P., Mexico, Desiree was a devoted mother, loving wife, and passionate advocate for her faith and family.

Desiree’s professional journey began as an auditor for Arthur Andersen, after which she established a successful recruiting business. She retired shortly after being diagnosed with cancer in 2017 but later reinvented herself by pursuing a career in the mortgage industry. Her deep faith and cherished family were her top priorities; she loved God wholeheartedly, making her faith the cornerstone of her life.

As a loving mother to three wonderful children, Desiree recently embraced her new role as "Mimi" to her beloved grandchildren. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support created a home filled with laughter, faith, and strong values.

Desiree was actively involved in her community, dedicating her time to volunteer work at her church. Before her diagnosis, she was an avid runner and proudly competed in several marathons in Houston. A woman of principle, she stood firm in her beliefs, whether in her faith in Jesus or her conservative values.

Desiree is survived by her loving husband, Nolan; her children Cole (and wife Noorin), Jake, and Lauren; her grandchildren, Zuri and Liam; and her brother John (and wife Mary). She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Guadalupe Abud and John Adolph Griffin.

A viewing/visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, located at 411 Ranch Road 620 South, Lakeway, TX 78734. Her Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, December 23rd, at 10:00 AM at Life Family Chapel, located at 8901 West Highway 71, Austin, TX 78735.

Desiree will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her unwavering faith, fierce love for her family, and the profound impact she made on all who knew her.
