David was born on June 18th, 1952 at Windber Hospital in Windber, Pennsylvania. He was a 1970 graduate of Shaler High School (Glenshaw, Pennsylvania) and 1975 graduate of the five-year accelerated program with Penn State and the College of Medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Initially David participated in a surgical residency at Ohio State University but then decided on an anesthesia residency at the University of Pennsylvania. Throughout his career he worked at various hospitals in Plainfield NJ, Bethlehem PA, Columbus, Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Boise, Dover and Lewes DE and ultimately retired from Anesthesia Services, P.A. at Christiana Hospital in Delaware where he truly found a home he loved. He was a Board Certified Anesthesiologist.
David enjoyed speed whether it was Porsche race cars, motorcycles, bicycles or jet skis. He also loved deep sea fishing, chess, reading and movies. Upon his retirement in 2018 he moved to Austin (Bee Cave) Texas, where he died.
David is survived by his two sisters, Susan Azar (Victor Zona) of Brevard NC and Lauren Azar (Rebecca Ryan) of Madison WI & Brevard NC. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph Samuel Azar and Ruth (Elizabeth) Hughes Kline as well as Aunts and Uncles, Dorothy Kline McCleary, Martha Kline Wingard and Cablan (Turk) Azar.
