Bill Ralph Moss, age 73, passed away at his residence in Lakeway, Texas, on February 29, 2024. He was born in Amarillo, Texas, to father, Ralph Voniver, and mother, Virginia May (Atkins). A practicing lawyer for over 47 years, he graduated from Baylor University School of Law in 1976. Out of law school, he served as a briefing attorney for the Texas Seventh District Court of Appeals before joining the law firm Culton, Morgan, Britain & White. In 1981, he moved to Austin, Texas, beginning a long career with the state of Texas, including positions as Hearings Examiner for the Public Utility Commission, Assistant General Counsel for the State Bar of Texas, Assistant General Counsel for the Texas Ethics Commission, and Assistant Attorney General of the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. He retired from the state in 2011, but maintained an active law license until the end. He was a devoted son, and, after retirement, served as the primary caregiver for both parents in their final years. An avid gardener and constant pursuer of urinating dogs and grazing deer, he was known as a fixture in the community. He is survived by his son, Dr. Brandon Moss, M.D., who lives in Cleveland, Ohio. Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 12:00PM at Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
