Ann Daniel Dodson, 72, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024 in Lakeway, Texas. A native of Baton Rouge, LA, graduate of Louisiana State University in English and life-long Tiger fan, she was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. She and her husband of 50 years, James Graham Dodson, are members of Emmaus Catholic Church in Lakeway where they lived for 24 years.
In Romans 8:18 Paul says, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.”
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Lou W. Daniel, her mother Ann Syrek Daniel and her cousin Sarah Jane Greer. Besides her husband, Ann is survived by daughter Ann Mangrum Dodson, son Daniel Graham Dodson, son-in-law Teddy Correa, daughter-in-law Jenni Dodson and grandchildren Ann Elizabeth Loiselle, Lillian Grace Loiselle, Gavin Graham Dodson and Brooklyn May Dodson.
Ann is also survived by brothers Judge Lou Daniel, David Daniel, Tommy Daniel, sister-in-law Janet Daniel and sister-in-law Keri Daniel all of Baton Rouge, LA. Ann also is survived by niece Mary Rose Daniel of Denver, CO and nephew John Daniel and his wife Arleen from Cincinnati, Ohio. Ann’s cousins Pam Deas and Melodie Scherer reside in Haverford, PA and Grosse Pointe, MI respectively.
Ann graduated from University High School in Baton Rouge in 1969 where she met her life-long friends Margo Eglin and Randy Harelson. Ann graduated from LSU in 1973 where she was a member of and served as Rush Chairman for Phi Mu sorority. She and Graham were married on April 6, 1974 at Christ the King Chapel on the LSU campus.
After marriage, Ann worked as head of the Newspaper, Microfilm, Microfiche Department in the LSU library prior to moving with Graham to Shreveport in 1975 where she worked as a Medline Researcher at the LSU Medical School library. Ann was an active member of the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier where she chaired or co-chaired several community projects. She and Graham lived and raised their family in Shreveport for 18 years prior to moving to McKinney, Texas in 1993. In 2000 the family relocated again to Lakeway, Texas where they have lived ever since.
The family gives special thanks to the many 'angels' at Blue Water Hospice and Blue Water Caregivers who lovingly cared for Ann during her last days. Memorials may be made in memory of Ann to the Emmaus Catholic Church, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
