Mrs. Yetta Weiner, age 98, of Lantana, Florida, passed away on Thursday May 3, 2018. Yetta, the eldest of four children of Anna Friedman and Benjamin Stein, was born on August 17, 1919, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Girls High School in Philadelphia. She was known in her youth as an accomplished gymnast. Yetta married Albert Weiner in the early 1940's, and had 2 children, Kenneth & Susan, who became her pride and joy. She used to read the dictionary for fun and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and playing mahjong and "killer" scrabble. She loved to jitterbug with Al. He called her "Babe". Yetta rescued many stray cats in her life, including her last one, named Puss-Puss, and she also nursed a small robin, named "Robby," back to health after it fell out of its nest.
A funeral service for Yetta will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A graveside service will immediately follow the memorial service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Lake Worth Memory Gardens, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461.
Yetta joins Albert Weiner, her husband of 65 years who died in 2011. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Weiner, and his wife, Elisabeth Wallace, of Philadelphia PA, and her daughter Susan Weiner Dunetz, of Highland Beach FL.
Following the graveside service, please join Yetta's children, Ken and Suzi in celebrating Yetta's life at 1108 Russell Drive, Highland Beach FL 33487.
