83, of Greenacres, FL, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. She had been a resident of South Florida since 1982 having moved from Brooklyn, NY. At the age of 2 she moved to Germany, lived with her grandparents and received a full scholarship to the Church Music School in Hamburg, Germany and continued playing music for the rest of her life. After World War II, Sigi was part of the German Singing Society in NY, volunteered at nursing homes playing the accordion, and was a volunteer organist and pianist at Lutheran Church of the Holy Cross three times a week for the last twelve years. She also enjoyed swimming, which she did everyday.
Survivors include her son, Anthony (Sheila) Di Pace; grandchildren, Jennifer Salizar and Stephanie Di Pace; great-grandchildren, Christian Salizar, Madison Salizar, Quinn Hussy, and Kahila Di Pace; sister, Ottilie Buchbauer. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony J. Di Pace in 1990.
The Di Pace family will receive their friends from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday, February 10th at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, February 11th also at the funeral home. Mrs. Di Pace will be laid to rest immediately following her funeral service at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Lutheran Church of the Holy Cross, 1591 Kirk Road, Palm Springs, FL. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461.
