

Roy Gerald Winebrenner, 80, of Port St. Lucie, passed away on February 4, 2015 under the care of Treasure Coast Hospice. He was born and raised in Portsmouth, Ohio. He moved to South Florida about fifty years ago. Jerry had been a police officer In Naples, Florida before coming to West Palm Beach where he served with the West Palm Beach Police Department for twenty-two years before retiring as a Captain in 1990. He continued to serve his community becoming the Director of Community Justice at Indian River Community College for over ten years. He was also a member of the I.P.A. His survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marcella, two children; Jeri-Ann (John) Saltalamacchia, and Jeff ( Sue) Winebrenner. He also leaves to cherish his memory five grandchildren; Justin, Cliff, Jarrod, Travis and Colton, and six great grandchildren; Taylor, Sidney, Hunter, Sloane, Tallon, and Elle, and his nieces Vickki (John) McGinnis, Kristie ( Richard) Greco. His family will receive friends on Monday, February 9, 2015, at the funeral home, between 12:00 noon and 2:00 PM, when his life will be celebrated. He will be laid to rest immediately following at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to DORSEY – E.
