Robert Wilson, age 88, of Greenacres, Florida passed away on Saturday May 5, 2018 in West Palm Beach. Robert was born September 14, 1929 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Winifred (Crawley) and John Wilson.
He was of catholic faith and an avid softball player. Not only did Robert play softball he also managed leagues. Before retiring to Greenacres, Florida he was employed at the Pawtucket Police Department as a dispatcher for over 30 years. In his later years he developed a green thumb and was referred to as the Flower Man as he planted various types of plants at his home.
Robert is survived by; son Wayne Wilson (Kathleen); daughter Donna Wilson; grandson Wayne A. Wilson, grandson Michael Mosian (Brandi), granddaughter Melissa Amershak (Shawn), great grandchild Jake Wilson, great grandchild Diesel Amershak and grandson Eric Wilson (Heather); and daughter-in-law Sharon Wilson.
Robert was preceded in death by; mother Winifred (Crawley) and father John Wilson.
A visitation for Robert will be held Friday, May 11 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A mass of christian burial will occur Saturday, May 12 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1000 West Lantana Road, Lantana, FL 33462. A graveside service will follow Saturday, May 12 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Lake Worth Memory Gardens, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461.
