Age 90 of Palm Springs, FL passed away peacefully at his home November 19, 2013 surrounded by his loving family and friends. With the help of Hospice of Palm Beach County, our dad was able to be at home, comfortable and happy to be with his wife, Elma Rafila Taylor of 70 years. Robert is survived by: his wife; son, Granville Taylor (wife, Susan); daughter, Robbie Preefer (husband, Richard); grandchildren, Rachel Preefer (fiance, Jason Matta), Robert Taylor (wife, Lori); great grandchildren, Zachary, Zoe and Suri; and his dear friends Margarita Segueras and Melissa Roblero.
Our dad was a proud veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. It was during this time he met and married our mother. Robert was a physically strong and dedicated family man. His creative influence in the development of the ice and refrigeration business here in Florida reached from Marathon to Jacksonville. The Royal Palm Ice Company grew with his guidance, leading to the convenience of ice to everyone. His quiet manner yet entertaining sense of humor will be greatly missed.
A private family service is planned for this week. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Robert G. Taylor’s name are requested to be made to the very caring organization: Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
