Robert “Bob” Joseph Ramm of Lake Worth, Florida passed away on April 2, 2025. Bob was born in Paterson, New Jersey at Barnert Hospital on December 4, 1941 to parents Emily Nassany and Thomas Frank Ramm.
Bob was raised in Paterson along with his four sisters. He enlisted in the US Army in 1959 requiring parental signature at the early age of 17. He served proudly and honorably for six years, with part of this time in Korea. Bob thrived with the structure, rigorous training and continuous learning of the military. He thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie in being a US soldier and then Veteran.
After his service, he worked as a machinist “self taught” early on in his career. He was naturally adept at fixing things and understanding how they worked mechanically. He met and married his wife Colleen in 1975 and settled in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, where they raised a family. He was always working on a project around the house, pool or garden. In his free time, he loved to be active. Bob was an avid hunter, bowler and golfer, a true student of the game, always striving for more. He was a natural teacher, coach, sometimes drill sergeant but all he ever wanted, for those he cared about, was for them to succeed. This was especially true for his children, and they did just that.
He worked for many years at Malcolm Konner Chevrolet in Paramus, NJ and later finished his career at Passaic County Technical Institute. He was hard working and a good provider. He loved his flashy items and treated himself deservedly but also saved for his rainy days. He fulfilled a lifelong dream and retired to sunny Florida in 2011. Bob spent many healthy years playing golf, casino hopping, dancing and socializing with good friends at the Moose Lodge #994.
Bob was deeply passionate about his family and life. In his honor, give the Masters Golf Tournament a watch and remember to, “get in the game.”
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his Wife Colleen, and his Children, Susan (Dave), Kelly (Tom) and William (Lauren). Giddo Bob will also be fondly remembered by his nine Grandchildren, Dylan, Ray, Cole, Devyn, Reed, Aiden, Jake, Rose and David, also by his sister Barbara (Joe) Law.
Bob is predeceased by his sisters Beverly Ramm, Bernice Ramm and Brenda Mohammed. He will also be forever remembered by his Nieces, Nephews, extended family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Bob’s life will held in New Jersey at a later date.
