Age 96 of West Palm Beach, FL passed away March 4, 2015. Lenore was born in rural Kentucky coal country on her grandparents farm to George Michael Geibel and Mae Humphrey Geibel on August 19, 1918. She moved to Lake Worth with her parents in 1924. They were one of the early families in downtown Lake Worth. She was in Lake Worth High class of 1937. She married a Navy Pilot named Emerson Lee in 1943. They moved to various Naval Air Stations during World War II and to the Washington DC area during the Korean War for Emerson’s work in the Pentagon. They returned to Lake Worth after the Korean War.
Along the way they had three children Randy, Mark and Diane. When all their children had married and had families of their own, Lenore and Emerson retired to the mountains of North Georgia. In Georgia she had an active social life with friends, family and square dancing. She returned to Lake Worth after the death of her husband of 50 years to be near her children and grandchildren. She is survived by sons, Randy and wife Margaret, Mark and wife Jill, and daughter Diane. Her grandchildren are Brett (Alexandra), Nicole (Martin), Michael (Lisa), Steve (Fabiola). Great grandchildren are Cooper, Isabella, Nicholas, Sofia and Samantha. Her ashes will be inurned with Emerson’s in the National Veterans Cemetery west of Lantana. A private memorial will be held at the request of the family.
