Originally, from Mahopac New York, she was born August 27,1927 to Edith Williams and Hanford Barrett.
She spent her child hood and early adult life in Putnam County, New York, where she became the owner-operator of the Hollywood Café.
In 1969 with her family she moved to East Chatham, New York to open and operate the Sprague’s Sheridan House.
She served as the Secretary for the State of New York Liquor Dealers Association in Columbia County for many years.
In 1981 she moved to Lake Worth, Florida to manage La Casa Maria Apartments.She became an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary for Post # 47, serving as President for multiple years.
She will be sadly leaving behind her husband Walter “Wally” P. Rath and children: Ida Tonnessen, George Sprague, Edward Sprague, Edith Morey and Joseph Morey. Step children: Ronald Rath, Rick Rath, Wally Rath and Deirdre Trevizo, 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many friends.
She was one of 12 children, survived by brothers Millard Williams of Roanoke, Virginia, Dennis Williams of Jacksonville, Florida and sister Anna Rose of Bethel, Connecticut.
She enjoyed organizing numerous events for the American Legion Post #47.She was an avid Bingo and card player.
She loved spending time with family and friends and will be truly missed by all that had the honor and privilege of knowing her.

A memorial will be held on Monday, February 7th at Dorsey –E Earl Smith Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by services at the South Florida National VA Cemetery at 2:00 PM. A reception will be held at the American Legion Post 47 after the services
