Howard Anthony Young, affectionately called “Tony” was born on September 23, 1961 to Cislyn Anderson and Donald Young in the parish of Clarendon in Jamaica, West Indies. He was the oldest of four children. Howard grew up in a community of other family members who helped to raise him.
Howard migrated to the United States at the age of 12, where he completed the rest of his schooling from middle to high school. While attending Haaren High school, he was a member of the track team and he also developed an interest in aviation. He later went onto aviation school, where he had the opportunity to
learn and fly small aircrafts.
After finishing school and working at a Key Food Retail Store in Brooklyn, N.Y, Howard met a young and beautiful bookkeeper. On April 28, 1984 in Brooklyn, NY, Howard and Marcine were joined in matrimony at the Church of the First Born where they fellowshipped. Their union soon produced three children,
Tonisha, Roxana and Jeffrey.
Howards other passion was photography. He invested in numerous photography equipment. His cameras were always set and ready for action. He did photography and videotaping at special events. After living in New York for 17 years, Howard relocated with his family to Florida. He then gained employment with Eckerd stores in the photo department and later as a District Manager for CVS.
Howard was a man who was truly committed to his family. He loved being on road trips, taking his family to see different places of interest such as Grand Canyon, Rubys Fall, Hoover Dam, and sites in Canada. He also enjoyed cruises to the Caribbean Islands as well. Howard had a pleasant, attractive disposition and a friendly countenance that drew others to him. He was a good talker - he always found words to keep the conversation going. He was always encouraging and always the life of the party. Howard attended Trinity Church International in Lake Worth, where he and Marcine were involved in various church cell groups.
When illness initially sidelined Howard, he decided to pursue his passion once again to be an entrepreneur and opened his own food service business. This new business allowed him to travel and see many different places throughout Florida. He worked hard and long in between
necessary medical care and rarely complained.
As pain later ravaged his body, and his illness progressed, his need for Hospice care became a reality. After a few days in Broward Health North Hospital, he was moved to Trustbridge Hospice until his fight left him on December 20, 2021. Tony is preceded in death by his parents.
