Genevieve L. Gallo

91, of West Palm Beach, FL and Highlands, NC, passed away in Florida on March 29, 2011. She had been a resident of South Florida since 1944 having moved from Chicago, IL. Genevieve enjoyed playing cards, knitting, and traveling; having been around the world five times. She was passionate about cooking (the Lake Worth Herald nominated her for cook of the year in 1954), and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years, Joseph J. Gallo; sons, Vincent J. (Betty) Gallo, Joseph C. Gallo, and Robert L. (Denise) Gallo; grandchildren, Steven (Renee) Gallo, Vincent J. (Brenda) Gallo Jr, Theresa Gallo, Timothy Scott (Tammy) Gallo, and Christopher Allen (Sheila) Gallo; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister, Louise Smith.

The Gallo family will receive their friends from 11 AM until noon on Saturday, April 2nd at the funeral home with a funeral service to follow. Mrs. Gallo will be laid to rest following her funeral service at Pinecrest Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dorsey-E.
