Worked with Nita for nearly 20 years in the West Palm Beach GFC/FWC Everglades Regional Headquarters. She was always upbeat and a great friend. I will always remember one Halloween when she came to work dressed as Mother Earth. My wife, Judy, and I spent one Christmas Eve with Nita and Charlie  one year that was very memorable. We all went Christmas Caroling in the neighborhood. Despite growing up in northern Illinois this was my first experience partaking in this tradition. Thanks, Nita, for showing us a great time. Nita, I miss not being able to talk to you. You were always there for me for work and family. I appreciate your understanding and your patience.   I know we lost touch because of being busy with our families. You were a great boss and friend to me. You always inspired me to be the best I could be And always gave an encouraging word. I know you're celebrating in heaven with our Lord. Thank you for letting me be a part of your life.

When I try to think of what to say, I don’t know where to start. Words are pale imitations of the light you brought to my life; they cannot accurately express everything you did for me, but I will try my best. 

If I could, I would tell you: 

Thank you for opening your home to me when I could not go home. Thank you for taking me in, because I don’t know where I would be, or if I would even be here at all, if you hadn’t. Your home became my home, and I wouldn’t be who I am today if it hadn’t. 

Thank you for everything you’ve done for Vivi. For who you were to her, what you mean to her. I’m so glad you were a such an important part of her life.

Thank you for inspiring my love for nature. Thank you for taking me to the mountains, to state parks. Those memories are some of the best memories of my childhood and teenage years. I’ve lost this exploring spirit recently, and I realize now that I miss those things. I need to go to those places, where I know I will feel you with me. 

Thank you for inspiring my love for Disney World, as well. Thank you for the memories I have there, because when I’m there I’ll always think of you.

Thank you for years of park picnics for Easter and other holidays, for Driftwood, and for Christmas Eves that meant so much to me. There was nothing I looked forward to more than going to Driftwood when I was young. Except for maybe those Christmas Eves.

Thank you for all the little things I don’t even remember but that I know you did for me. 

Thank you for being you.

I’ll miss you forever. You’re in the stars now, and all I have to do is look up. 

I was heartbroken to hear of Nita's passing.  I feel blessed to have been considered a member of the family for many, many years.  I treasure the memories of camping trips, Christmas caroling, holiday dinners, cookie baking and Christmas parties.  Mom, as I called her, loved her family and her animals, and was truly happy when her house was full of both.  She was a loving, generous soul and she will be very sadly missed.  I love and will miss you very much.   Jolynn

Nana was an inspirational, supportive, and welcoming person to all of us. No one left her home a stranger, and the strength of her spirit overpowered any physical frailty she endured. We were blessed by her quick wit, her warm hugs, and her disarming smile. She taught us that family is forever, and that when all else falls short love would be there to sustain us.

Dear father

I am very sorry that I cannot attend such an important day.
I can't help but feel more and more sad as the days go by.

Ever since you and your wife met, you have loved your children, your family, and your many friends with a deep, warm affection and a big smile.

From now on, I believe that your wife's warm heart will always be by our side.

Worked with her closely during my time as a Staff Supervisor. Her top priority was the safety of “her” officers! Rest my dear sweet Nita.

Dear Family Hein,
We are so sad to hear of Nita’s passing.
We missed seeing you all at the Christmas Eve gathering. You have always been so warm and welcoming with hugs and kind words of encouragement. Surely Nita has a special seat of honor at the Savior’s table and a mansion so grand she will be exploring its rooms for ages. Nita loved without limits and every adopted Nanakin has her to thank for rescuing them when they needed a mom the most.  We thank you and appreciate you being a part of our lives all these years. ❤️🙏🏻

Charlie and family, I am saddened to hear of Nita’s passing. I have a special place for her in my heart, which began when she was my childhood teacher, and life brought us back together as my supervisor, mentor and friend.  I learned so much from her about being successful balancing work and life! Sending you all lots of love ❤️
