Lake Worth—Daisy Garnett Dean of Lake Worth was welcomed into Heaven on Monday, May 28, 2012. A Winder, Georgia native, Daisy spent most of her life in Lake Worth as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Widowed as a young mother, she spent much of her life selflessly devoted to raising her three daughters. She also served faithfully as a member of First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach and as supervisor of utilities for the City of Lake Worth.
She was preceded in death by husbands Lacey Garnett of Cadie, KY and, in later life, Joy Dean of Lake Worth; parents Callous and Nellie Hardegree of Winder, GA; son-in-law, Harry Hersey, Jr. of Tequesta; and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughters Martha Garnett Hersey of Jupiter, Polly Garnett Trice of Lake Worth, and Vickie (Wayne) Garnett Whatley of Orlando; grandchildren Harry (Julie) Hersey III of West Palm Beach, Monica (Steven) Trice Allen of Swaziland, Africa, Michael (Suzanna) Trice of Atlanta, GA, Tarrah (Jesse) Hersey Malagon of Lake Worth, and Andrew Whatley of Orlando; great grandchildren Hailey and Haiden Hersey, Lacie and Nathan Allen, Caroline and Luke Trice, and Brooklyn and Hudson Malagon; and brother Herbert Hardegree of Winder, GA.
Family will receive visitors from 11:00-12:00 on Wednesday, May 30 at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home in Lake Worth with a chapel service at 12:00. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
