Dr. Carole Ellen Wilkinson

Dr. Carole Wilkinson, age 76, of Lake Worth, Florida passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Carole was born in Springfield Massachusetts on September 14, 1946 and earned her undergraduate degree from American International College and later earned her Master of Education degree from Westfield State College. In 1982 she joined the inaugural faculty staff at Santaluces High School in Lantana, FL, where she developed a passion for using technology in classrooms to improve the classroom experience for students and teachers. In 2002 she earned her Doctorial degree in Educational Technology from Nova Southeastern University. She moved to the Palm Beach School District offices where she worked in the ESOL/Multicultural Department.

She retired from the school district in 2013 and has been teaching at Nova Southeastern University in the Education department ever since. While at Nova she continued her crusade of helping her students implement technology in the classroom and improving the technology skills of teachers.

When she wasn't teaching and after she retired, Carole developed a love for photography. She was never at a family function or one of her grandchildren's events without at least one camera. She also enjoyed photographing nature, particularly birds, from her backyard to the beautiful parks we have in our area. Not afraid to try new things, she began to learn to play the piano and honed her cooking skills. In the last 15 years or so she and her husband of just shy of 57 years became avid cruisers and she the lucky recipient of a piece of jewelry from many different areas in the Caribbean.

A visitation for Carole will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A prayer service will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A committal service will occur Thursday, March 2, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Lake Worth Memory Gardens, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461.

She is survived by her husband David and her children David Jr. (Lori) and Christine (Miguel) and her five granddaughters Kathleen, Jessica, Meghan, Briana and Chloe'. In lieu of flowers, donations to Big Dog Ranch in her name are appreciated. https://www.bdrr.org/in-memory
