Carol was born on September 3, 1935 to Carl and Selma Strietelmeier of Bartholomew County, Indiana. She graduated from Shields High School Seymour Indiana class of 1953. After graduation, she worked for Cummins Engine then moved to Palm Beach County FL in 1956 where she met and married John B. (Jack) Waddell of Lake Worth, FL. Carol was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family, friends, cooking, and decorative stitching. Carol was a dedicated and long-time member of The P.E.O Sisterhood Chapter EZ (Lake Worth). Carol’s love of stitchery led to her involvement in her business, Needlepoint House.
She is predeceased by her husband John B. Waddell (July 1999), sister Donna Strietelmeier, and grandson Michael Waddell.
She is survived by her sister Phyllis Carpenter; son John B. Waddell Jr and daughter-in-law Karen, their son Matthew; daughter Katherine Lang, her sons Max and Trevor; 6 great granddaughters and 1 great grandson.
A memorial service will be held at Lake Worth United Congregational Church 1415 North K St, Lake Worth Beach, FL on Wednesday July 17, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.
