She also leaves behind many close friends.
Beverly Beaufait was born in Detroit, Michigan where she later met her husband during high school working on the yearbook. "Chuck" Gillece was the photographer. "Bev" and Chuck went to the senior prom together and dated while commuting to Wayne University. There they got their degrees: chemical engineering for him and nursing for Beverly. They married in 1952 while Chuck was on leave from the Army Chemical Research facility where they first lived.
After the Army, Beverly and Chuck lived in the Chicago suburbs. They began visiting Lake Worth, FL during this time as Beverly's parents began to winter there. During these times she raised three daughters: Beth, Marcia and Amy. She was an excellent housekeeper, but she doubted herself. She also insured that every supper included meat or fish, starch, vegetables and a salad. She worked as a nurse, part-time off and on as the girls grew. When it came time for retirement they moved to Lovells, Michigan to spend summers there and clothes began to quilt in earnest with the "Cheerful Givers" of Lovells. In Florida, she took a quilting class where she met her closest friend. She also found St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Lake Worth. After Chuck died in 2019, Beverly moved to the Finnish-American Rest Home. Her cheerful spirit was always encouraging. She kept track of comings and goings and kept everyone informed and involved. Her cheerful chatter is being missed. Beverly's ashes will be buried in Lovells, MI.
