Age 87 passed away peacefully on September 26, 2017 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. On May 8, 1930, Alice was born in Tarrytown, NY and was the daughter of James and Heilda (Helen) McNally. When reflecting on her childhood and teenage years, she would fondly recall life in Tarrytown and her graduation from Washington Irving High School. She was always an animal lover, and was especially fond of dogs, cats and horses. As a teenager she enjoyed riding horses on the Rockefeller estate, swimming in the Hudson River (she would cringe when discussing it) and enjoy tales of the Headless Horseman. During the war years of World War II, she and her mother would watch her father, a World War I veteran, carry out his evening patrol as an Air Raid Warden. “Those were strange times,” she would say. After moving to Florida, she worked at Cushman Fruit Company in Order Entry, a job she truly enjoyed. She was an active member of the Lake Worth Does #146, were she served in a variety of positions including President. She thoroughly enjoyed her family, friends, travel, boating and parties. She cruised to Alaska, the Bahamas, Mexico and some of her favorite travel destinations included London, San Francisco and Cape Cod. Country music and line dancing, when combined, always resulted in a good time. When she was in her 60’s, she and her husband Alf attended their first outdoor Jimmy Buffett concert in West Palm Beach. Surprised by their age, one of the younger Buffet fans attending the concert remarked that they were pretty old Parrotheads. She embraced the designation and remained a Parrothead for the rest of her life. In the 87th year of her life she continued to go boating on the Intracoastal, was a season ticket holder at the Barn Theater and usually came out a winner on the slot machines at the Brighton casino. Sadly, all parties must come to an end. Alice was predeceased by her husband Alf and is survived by a large family that loved her. Her kids include Brian G. (Georgia) Anderson, Russell Anderson and Christine (Jerry) Krenz. Her grandkids include Christopher Anderson, Amber Rivera, Chloe Krenz, Julia Krenz and Angela Krenz. Her great grandson is Gavin Anderson. Friends may visit from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL. The funeral service will begin at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make a donation to Paws 2 Help. The web address is http://www.paws2help.org
