Richard A. Hein

Richard Arnold Hein, age 89, of Lake Odessa, was called Home to his Savior on Monday afternoon, August 2, 2010. Richard was born in Battle Creek on February 17, 1921to Arnold William and Ada Ruth (Phillips) Hein. He had served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. Following his discharge from the military, he started the family painting business in the Lansing area, and in later years he joined the Painter's Union. He married Ila Jeffers on September 24, 1971. Richard loved music, especially from the 1920's and 30's, and looked forward to watching Lawrence Welk. Richard is survived by his grandson, Richard and Scarlett Key of Oklahoma; and 4 great grandchildren, Kaleb, Kyler, Kiersten, and Kaelin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ila; and sons, William R. Hein and Richard N. Hein. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 5 at the Koops Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be in Deepdale Memorial Park in Lansing.
