Michael Charles Benner

Michael Charles Benner, age 79, of Woodland, Michigan passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 with his family by his side. Mike was born on January 12,1944 in Lake Odessa. Lifelong resident of Woodland, Mike worked in skilled trades at GM until his retirement. In his retirement he kept busy doin odd jobs, hauling trailers for FEMA after Katrina, was one he was most proud of. Mike was Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks in Hastings where he also ran the Bingo games, he also enjoyed memberships at the Eagles in Woodland, and Moose in Hastings. Mike was an avid fisherman, loved going to food auctions, and camping, road trips with his boys, Tommy and Dale. Being a die hard Elvis fan, the day the King died was a sad one in his house.

Mike will be forever missed by; his daughter Kimberly "Brat" (Greg Lightfoot) Easey, brother Walter Kidder, sister Robin Benner, grandchildren Alex Fay and Jessica (James) Wright, 2 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding him in death are; his parents Charlene Kidder, Walter Kidder, Robert Benner, brother Myerel Kidder, sister Cathy Kidder, and his boys Tommy and Dale.

The family would like to thank Stay at Home Care for the excellent care they provided keeping Mike in his home as long as possible, and Gentiva Hospice for the care they gave in his last days.

Visitation will take place on June 2, 2023 at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa, MI from 12 noon until time of service at 1pm. Following services cremation will take place and a private graveside committal held at a later date in Woodland Memorial Park, Woodland, MI.
