Emaline Hulbert, age 91, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 9, 2023. She was at home, surrounded by her loving husband and all of her children, singing hymns as she passed on to her heavenly home.
Emaline was born March 11, 1932 in Argyle, Michigan to Clare Bullis and Erma Hillacker. She was born just minutes before midnight on March 11th, which was also her Aunt Emaline's birthday, but the Dr. didn't fill out the birth certificate until after midnight, and put down March 12. She celebrated her birthday every year on March 11th, and it was the date on her driver's license, social security, etc.... until ... she was well into her 80's and medicare caught it and said her birthday was really March 12th, and she had to change the date on her legal documents. After that we celebrated her birthday on both days!
Emaline is survived by her husband, Henry (Hank) Hulbert. She was a devoted and loving mother and is survived also by her children, David (Diana) Hulbert, Deborah Porter, Donald (Charlene) Hulbert, Dale Hulbert, Dennis (Karen) Hulbert, Hank (Kim) Hulbert, and Gary Toner, who Hank and Emaline raised from the age of 7, 23 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, brother Bub Bullis and his wife Dorothy. She was preceded in death by her parents Clare and Erma Bullis, grandson Bruce Hulbert, Granddaughter Wendi Hulbert, Brother Ron Bullis, Sister-in-law Ruth Bullis and Son-in-law David Porter. Emaline's unconditional love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Emaline was saved as a young teenager and lived fully committed to serving the Lord until her death. She met Hank when he came to preach a tent revival in Cass City, Michigan. Emaline was an excellent pianist, and played the piano for church services since age 15. She was playing the organ in the tent revival that Hank preached as a young evangelist, and the rest is history! Together they raised their children and served the Lord together for almost 69 years.
Emaline will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering faith and love, her kindness and compassion will be forever cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.
"Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Proverbs 3:28
