Duane F Reuther

Duane F Reuther of Battle Creek passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Bronson Hospital, Kalamazoo, after a brief illness.  He was born September 8, 1936 in Lake Odessa, MI, son of the late Fred and Norma (Rowley) Reuther.  Grew up in Woodland, graduated from Woodland High School and the Flint Barber School.  Worked as a barber and in sales most of his life.  Was a musician, played bass in several bands and also was involved in church music at Zion Lutheran in Woodland and St. Peter's Lutheran in Battle Creek.  Preceded in death by his wife, Anne.    Survived by a daughter, Linda (William) Young of Big Rapids and a son, Steven, of Battle Creek.  Two grandchildren, Ben (Emma) Young of Kalamazoo and Mary Emma Young of Grand Rapids, and a sister, Joanne (William) Musselman of Kalamazoo and several cousins and many friends.  Services will be held at the Koops Funeral Home in Lake Odessa on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11 am officiated by Rev. Polly Standley.  The family will be receiving friends and family from 10am until time of service.  Interment will take place in Woodland Memorial Park.  Memorials to a charity of one's choice.  Online condolences can be left for the family at www.koopsfc.com
