David L Lake

David L Lake, age 75, of Lake Odessa, Michigan passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family. David was born in Lansing, MI to Morrison and Virginia (Smith) Lake on July 22, 1949. He was a welder for over 40 years starting at Hough Brothers and retiring from Apec in 2014. David was quite the fabricator building many things over the years including wood stoves, trailers, pitching machine, wagons and flag poles just to name a few. He could often be found in his shop listening to old country music and tinkering with something. On November 6th, 1971 he married Yolanda "Judy" Llanes at St. Edwards Catholic Church and spent 53 years raising their family here in Lake Odessa. When not working or tinkering he could be found fishing no matter the time of year. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and watching them grow, never missing a game or special event.

David will be dearly missed by his wife Judy, daughter Stacy (Chad) Jones, grandchildren Carissa (Christian) Mead and Carson Jones, siblings Gary (Chris) Lake, Lenny (Ginger) Lake and Pam (Dennis) Normington, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by; his parents and sister Brenda Cotton.

Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, March 8th, 2025 at St. Edwards at 11am, with Visitation from 10am until time of service.
