He was born August 30, 1932 in Ada, MI, to Russell and Gertrude (Tanis) McCaul.
Ben grew up on the family farm, and while serving in the Army, in Germany, during the Korean War, discovered he had a knack for fixing radios and other equipment. Upon returning from the war he attended Ferris State University for Television and Appliance Repair.
After graduation Ben married Donna Jackson and raised three children, instilling the value of hard work while farming and working at Lake Odessa TV and Appliance.
Ben will be missed by his wife of sixty years, Donna; children Sharon (Pete) Turner of Pensacola, FL, Karen (Don) Hill of Bridgman, MI, and Todd (Deb) McCaul of Lake Odessa; grandchildren Kyle (Emily) Root, Benjamin Williams, Morgan McCaul, Mason McCaul, Caleb Hill, Molly McCaul, John Turner, Beth Turner and Kayte Turner; and great-grandchildren Kylie and Amalia Root, Kayla Turner, Cameron and Adrian Dansalan, Tyler and Jasmine Schultz; siblings Bob McCaul, Carl McCaul, Carol Nielsen, and Lester (Jan) McCaul, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Mary McCaul, Virginia (Rex) Creighton, and Charles McCaul.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 5th at 11:00 am at the Clarksville Bible Church, with a visitation at 10:00 am until the time of service.
