Wanda was a very loving and compassionate person. She was a devoted and active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Cameron, LA where she was a Eucharistic Minister. Wanda was also a devoted Catholic daughter and made her Cursillo. She loved crafting, expanding her flower garden and adding new pieces to her jewelry collection. Her most precious of all things was to spend time with her husband, daughters, grandchildren and Tyson Lee her grand-dog. Wanda met monthly with some of her closest friends in their group known as “Gathering Friends”. She shared a special bond with this group of ladies, where they enjoyed each others company, fellowship and good food. Wanda worked for many years for Cameron Parish as a Director of the Cameron Recreation Center. She was well known to all as “Miss Wanda”.
Those left to cherish her memory is her husband, Carlton LeBlanc; daughters, Elwanda Shilow of Houston, TX, Sha’Da LeBlanc of Lake Charles, LA; granddaughters, Daisha Shilow, Jayla Shilow, Khloe Shilow; grand-dog, Tyson Lee; brother, Walter Murrell of Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Emma Davis, Agnes Morris and Doris Johnson of Have Lock, North Carolina.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents and a host of brothers and sisters.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on November 20, 2021 at Hixson Funeral home of Lake Charles from 8am with a rosary to be prayed at 9:30am. A Celebration of life memorial service will be held on the same day beginning at 10am led by Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux.
