Wallace Carleton "Web" Pierce Jr., age 90, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021. Web was born June 2, 1931 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Wallace Carleton and Eleanor Thompson Pierce Sr.
Web served his country in the National Guard and was honorably discharged as Sergeant First Class E-7 Hq Co 2nd BG/156th Infantry in January 1960. He started work at Olin Mathieson in Lake Charles in 1953 and retired from Olin Chemicals as a maintenance supervisor in 1991 after 38 years of dedicated service. His hobbies included fishing, deer hunting, photography, and traveling all over the United States. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s birthday parties, special occasions, dance recitals and sporting events. He was especially proud of being a member of Clan Wallace and a descendant of William “Braveheart” Wallace. He was also proud that he could trace family ancestors coming to the New World in 1620 on the Mayflower.
Web was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children Marion White Pierce; sons Stephen Pierce, Frank L. Pierce and Wallace C. “Bubby” Pierce, III.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Carol Stacy Pierce; sons, Donald W. Pierce, Kenneth J. Pierce, Sr.; daughters Kathy Mixon (Russell C., Jr.), Sandy Yelverton (Clark J.), all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; six grandchildren, Amy Mixon Walker, Tre’ Mixon (Liz), Matt Mixon (Tiffany), Marion Yelverton Newsom, Justin Yelverton (Becca) and Kenneth J. Pierce, Jr. (Brittney); ten great-grandchildren, Lance Corporal Hayden Walker, USMC, Heidi Walker, Carson Mixon, Belle Mixon, Anna Newsom, Leah Yelverton, Cayden Mathews, Amelia Mathews, Maggie Mixon and Evyn Mixon, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Web will be held Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 2-4PM at Hixson Funeral Home, 3001 Ryan St., Lake Charles, Louisiana, with a rosary at 3PM. The funeral service will be conducted by Brother Russell C. Mixon, Jr. on Sunday at 4PM. Burial will take place Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at 10AM at Consolata Cemetery.
