She was born in Elizabeth, LA to parents Harry and Grace Elkins on January 06, 1928.
She was a resident of Southwest Louisiana for the majority of her life. She married Carroll H. Parham on July 23, 1945, in Oberlin, LA officiated by his brother, Rev. Roy Parham.
She was a housewife her entire life and her biggest accomplishment was her 5 children. The greatest loves of her life were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was a very active member of the Baptist churches in Westlake, LA. She was a very accomplished seamstress and sewed all her daughters and granddaughters' dresses. She was a veracious reader and didn't limit the genres she read, anything she could get her hands on, she would read. She also loved to listen to Christian music and played it loud enough for everyone to hear. She and her late husband were also members of the church choir.
She is welcomed into heaven by her husband, parents, two sons, Paul D. Parham and infant Preston A. Parham; grandsons, Matt and Jack Vickers; and sister, Shirley Lassetter.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are children, Pat Dawsey(Jim), Pam Nave, Phillip Parham(Dena), and Mark Parham(Yolanda); 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; as well as two sisters, Vonna Webre(Fred) and Barbara Bannister.
