Tommy was a member of the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Ragley. Tommy worked for the KCS Railroad for 48 years before retiring as a Brakeman & Conductor. Through the years he enjoyed hunting, fishing at his camp in Toledo Bend, bluegrass festivals, and of course watching South Beauregard Basketball where he was most affectionately known as "Paw Paw".
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Earl and Janie Jackson, brother, Leroy Jackson, and his late wife, Madeline R. Jackson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Dartez Jackson; daughters, Belinda Breaux and Deanna Yancey (Paul); grandchildren, Shannon McCain, Misty Breaux, Lindsey Guidry, Laura Johnson, and Erin Havens; ten great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Victoria, Kilie, Waylon, Jackson, Kason, Dakota, Tatum, Luke, and Colt; two great-great-grandchildren, Parker and Weston; and three nieces, Lori, Ilene, and Lisa.
Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, and visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
Funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home in the Chapel of Peace. Chaplin Shelly Young will officiate services. Burial will follow in Walnut Hill Church Cemetery in Leesville.
