Sherry,Blueberry,Sherika was some of your nicknames ,but to me you are MOM. You are the strongest woman I’ve ever known. You was very brave and beautiful. I’m very blessed to have had you as my mom. You loved people and a lot of people loved you. I’m glad you are not suffering anymore. No more needles, no more hospital stays, and no more pain. I know you are in heaven. You were a huge part of my childhood, I spent so much time at you & Uncle Tommy’s house. Memories I’ll always cherish. ❤️💕 Thank you for the laughter, the lessons and the love.

One of my favorite stories is when I was 6 or 7 years old. Aunt Sherry had come to my grandmother's and great aunt's house, where I was living at the time, to visit. My grandmother had to go to work and had told my great aunt, whom only spoke French, that morning not to open the door for anyone. Well, Aunt Sherry showed up knocking on the door. I talked to her through the window because my great aunt could barely walk and she had a cane and when she spoke in French if you didn't understand her she would make you understand because she would shake that cane in the air at you. Aunt Sherry told me to let her in the house or she was going to beat my ass when she did get in the house, LOL... Needless to say, I didn't let aunt Sherry in the house and she had to sit outside on the steps until my grandmother got back home from work. I wasn't getting hit with a cane. LOL... 
Another story is, when I was 15 years old, I was living with Aunt Sherry, Uncle Tommy, Wayne, and my grandmother. Aunt Sherry checked me out of school early unexpectedly. I was puzzled as to why. She told me that I needed to come to work with her and once we got home she had a surprise for me. We got home and she said well it isn't here yet... so we went in the house and was chilling. I was standing in the kitchen and a van had pulled up in the driveway with a man and a woman in it. I said, Aunt Sherry, there is someone here in a brown and tan van, she was like, hmmm... I don't know who that is. Next there was a knock on the door and Aunt Sherry said "Come in". The door opened and the man said, "I heard there's a white boy here that's been looking for me for a long time". I immediately knew it was my Dad. I had no contact or knew anything about him since I was 5 years old. It truly was a surprise that I'll never forget. Aunt Sherry reunited Me and my Dad. Thank you Aunt Sherry for those memories and the many others you've touched my life with. Gone but not forgotten. I love you, Aunt Sherry.

Aunt Sherry was one of a kind always laughing and joking around.  She will be missed dearly.  My condolences with you all.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Joseph Giroir and Marie Theriot, her granddaughter, Madison Brock, her brother Andre Giroir, and niece Marie Vincent.


Those left to cherish her memories include her loving husband Jimmie Dyson Sr. of Cameron, LA, her sons; Thomas Wayne and wife Bethanie DeBarge of Lake Charles, LA, Rodney Bush and wife Laurie of Abbeville LA, Jimmy Lee Dyson and wife Bibby of Nacogdoches TX, her daughters; Grace Lindsey of Hartselle Al, Dorothy and husband Danny Hall of Ocala, FL, Nora and husband Danny Smith of Cameron, LA, her sisters; Anna Hunt of Biloxi, MI, Theresa Abrahamsen of Lake Charles, LA, Sylvia Cormier and husband Lee, Monica Gripp and husband Charles of Iowa, LA, Katrina Gillette of Bundicks Lake, LA, her brothers; Samuel Dwain Giroir and wife Collettia of Westlake, and bonus son, Chad Debarge and wife Maranda of Grandlake, LA, as well as 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
