Funeral Services for Rose M. LeBlanc will be at 10am Friday, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Msgr. Jace Eskind officiating. Visitation is Thursday, 4pm- 8pm with a scripture service at 6pm followed by a rosary at the funeral home and resume 9am until service time. Entombment will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.
Mrs. LeBlanc was born in Evangeline Parish on March 20, 1928. She has been a resident in Lake Charles since graduation from High School at Chataignier. She is a graduate of Vincent Business College. She worked for Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word as insurance supervisor and secretary to the business manager. She helped start the employees’ Credit Union and served as its secretary until her retirement. She was an employee of Dr. C.O. Frederick’s Urology office for 25 years working as transcriptionist, office supervisor and assistant to the director. She was a Notary Public.
She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Extraordinary Sacristan. She was a member of the Décor Committee and a member of the Cathedral Bell ringers. She was a member of the Altar Society and Court Lady of the Lake Catholic Daughters. She was awarded Catholic Daughter of the year in 2001. The Maple Leaf Award was presented to her for outstanding service and ministry in the Cathedral Parish.
Survivors include her two daughters, Debbie Theriot of Lake Charles and Kathy Schraub of Austin, TX; one son, Michael LeBlanc of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sisters, Olivia Manuel LeDoux of Opelousas and Genevieve Manuel Fontenot of Baton Rouge; 16 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband C.P. (Carroll) LeBlanc.
