Robert was born on May 28th, 1951, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Robert E. and Iris Reed Regan. He was the oldest and only boy of four children. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School, studied accounting at McNeese University and served in the United States Army as an Account Specialist, E-4. Robert was a pipefitter and traveled the world and United States, making many close friends along the way.
Robert grew up on a bayou helping his dad who was a professional fisherman. This led Robert to be an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and in his later years, golf. Robert also was an amateur historian, loving to read anything pertaining to early American history and its battles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. and Iris Reed Regan and his sisters Jennifer Gail Regan Mouhot and Julie Katheryn Regan Mallette.
He is survived by his daughter Brandi Jeanice Thompson and her husband Scott Thompson of Richmond Hill, Ga; a grandson, Connor Matthew Thompson, a granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Thompson, both of Richmond Hill, Ga; a sister, Theresa Rachel Regan-Mancuso of Louisiana; nieces Marcie D Richardson of Tiffin, OH; Denise D. Hebert of New Iberia, La; and Christina Wortham of Elgin, Fl; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Robert’s remains were cremated as per his last wishes, and funeral services will be announced at a later date.
Robert Gregory Regan will be remembered as a friend, father and grandfather with a generous heart, loved and cherished by all who knew him.
