was a resident and local businessman of Lake Charles for over 70 years. He was born in Guthrie, OK.
He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Mexico, Mo., Guthrie High School, and graduated from
Oklahoma University with a BS in Business. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Boedecker Price. He is survived by his 3 children, Robert Price, Jr. and wife Susan of Lake Charles, Patricia Ingold and her husband Conrad of River Ridge, La,
and Judy Johnston and her husband Stuart of Ft. Worth, Tx. He had 7 Grandchildren, and 10 Great
grandchildren.
Bob moved to Louisiana in 1940 with his family and began work in the construction industry. He was
owner and President of the Brick and Tile Company, which manufactured brick for the streets and
buildings of Southwest Louisiana. He later became Chairman of the Board of Dunham Price Group,
LLC, where he worked for 50 years. He was also an owner and on the Board of Directors of R.E.Heidt
Construction Co. He was a developer of several real estate ventures in southwest Louisiana, including
the Lake Charles Hilton and Tower Oaks Apartment for the elderly.
Bob served two terms on the Calcasieu Parish School Board, and was a member of the Lake Charles
Recreation Commission. He was a member of several civic organizations, including the Chamber of
Commerce, Better Business Bureau, and the Kiwanis Club. He was a 32nd degree Mason, and an elder of
the First Presbyterian Church. He was King of the Krewe of Bartaria.
He became a private pilot at an early age and loved to talk airplane. He had the ability to complete a
crossword puzzle in minutes, but always considered it a challenge. His special gift was making others smile.
Funeral services will be at the First Presbyterian Church on Monday, May 20, at 11:00am. Visitation
