Phyllis loved country music, playing her instruments, and having a good time with family and friends. She didn't meet a stranger and always wore a smile on her face. She retired from Cameron Food Mart after many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Murphy and Ruby Hebert Murphy, a brother, Ronald Murphy, and a sister, Debra Joy Billings.
Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Patrick Murphy; uncle, Doris Hebert; brother-in-law, Orson Billings; sister-in-law, Cheryl Murphy; seven nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Scott, Ryan, Brett, Jessica, Jodi, and Patricia; 4 great-nieces and 7 great-nephews; and numerous cousins.
Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles with a Rosary beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024 in the Chapel of Peace at J. E. Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Deacon Tony Pousson will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles.
