Mary Lois Fontenot

She was born on April 14,1936 in Mamou, Louisiana.

Mary was very family oriented, and loved having her children and grandchildren over for holidays and festivities. She taught literacy & English through Allen Parish Library.

English was one of her many passions, and she always loved to cozy up to a good book. Mary faithfully followed politics and was adamant about casting her vote. She enjoyed listening to her Cajun French music while just going for a drive with Allen.

She is greeted in heaven by her beloved husband Allen Oscar Fontenot Sr., and her eldest son Gary Lane Fontenot.

Those left to cherish her memories are her six children; Sharon Blood, Patricia Kay Jackson, Allen Oscar Fontenot Jr., Darlene Joan Stark, Tyrone Paul Fontenot , and Bryan Gene Fontenot. She also leaves behind a legacy of a fifth generation, which includes 70 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
